Ian Oliver Posted December 26, 2010 at 03:45 PM Posted December 26, 2010 at 03:45 PM I've a similar set up, but with the X6 processor ... AMD chips are fairly cheap, I'd go for X6: Even though FSX is based around 1 single thread, texture loading and some other tasks do get farmed off into other threads and thus the other cores. Also Windows 7 has a pretty good scheduler so it does take advantage of those other cores which basically leaves FSX free to utilise a core to the max. Admittedly, I#ve got an old Nvidia 8800GTS, but in 1600x1000, widescreen, whatever - can#t ever remember the wide screen resolutions... Sliders to max except autogen which is around middling, I get 200plus with the default stock, around 30 to 40 with the Wilco Airbii Ian

Rauno Maisa 1018208 Posted December 26, 2010 at 07:35 PM Posted December 26, 2010 at 07:35 PM The 5450 might be a bit weak for the setup, I'd go for a 5770.
