Matthew Bartels Posted January 27, 2011 at 02:16 AM Posted January 27, 2011 at 02:16 AM (edited) VATUSA Friday Night Ops Comes to Minneapolis/St. Paul International (KMSP)! Come join our friendly and professional controlling staff as we staff Minneapolis to the gills on January 28th. From 6pm CST until we can't take it anymore, enjoy full staffing and operations at KMSP. Bring in IFR or VFR traffic - makes no difference to us! If bad weather is in the forecast, expect delays for de-icing and snow removal - hope you brought enough fuel! As always in anticipation of a large event, we ask that pilots ensure that they have up-to-date scenery for KMSP, including runway 17/35. Our own AFCAD for FS2004 is available on our Scenery page. FS X users and those wishing to add accurate KMSP terminals and ramps can download William Morgan's FRF KMSP Scenery or install BluePrint Simulations' KMSP scenery. In anticipation of increased traffic loads during our upcoming VATUSA Friday Night Ops event, ZMP has taken the opportunity to produce an informational docomeent which will [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist pilots in planning their arrivals into KMSP this Friday. We request that all pilots inbound to Minneapolis take a brief pause to review the information in this briefing, as it will greatly enhance the overall experience. Get the pilot brief here: http://minniecenter.org/docs/FNO_Pilot_Brief.pdf Clear skies, and we'll see you on the 28th! Andrew Doubleday Posted January 27, 2011 at 03:04 AM Posted January 27, 2011 at 03:04 AM It's probably worth mentioning this event will be primarily a live event as well. Ten or so of us will be providing services from an undisclosed location in Grand Forks, ND lovingly known as "the cave" by most of the facility... In all seriousness though, this is a fantastic crew to be working with... You'll be receiving top notch services on Friday night. I couldn't be more proud to be working with a professional and enthusiastic crew such as this once again. Charan Kumar Posted January 28, 2011 at 07:33 AM Posted January 28, 2011 at 07:33 AM 0000z, is that why it's called deep freeze? Good luck with your event all the same!! When is your next Flight||VATSIM HitSquad Member, ZOA/ZAK/GANDER/P1
Andrew Doubleday Posted January 28, 2011 at 08:09 AM Posted January 28, 2011 at 08:09 AM It's going to be a deep freeze tomorrow night... Plan on freezing rain/snow mix and de-icing operations. We're likely going to be dependent parallel ILS approaches during the FNO. Going to make for an interesting night!
