Problems Setting the Active Airports

I can see the list of airports available to set the active runway and i am able to select the two columns on the left to set the active. My trouble starts when I press "OK" because it doesn't seem to apply the changes. If i go back into the window to select the active airport, the boxes that i checked will be blank. It also doesn't seem like my sector becomes active.

Sorry, but I am new at ES. If there is any additional information that I need to post, please let me know.

Thanks!

First guess: you activated SET active APT by owned sector in general settings, and your ESE does not support it. If not even your sector is activated, maybe it's a frequency problem and the real problem is your sector not being activated.

Thanks for the quick reply. I unchecked set active airport by owned sector and that now allows me to set the active airport, but the sector still doesn't activate

Well, without some more details ... my crystal ball is currently in repair

What SCT/ESE? Did you set the primary frequency? etc.

The SCT and ESE files were created for NYARTCC. And yes, my primary frequency was set. Would you like me to send you the files?

so if you are not the one who created it and other people don't have problems, shouldn't the files be ok? But you can send me the files to sboerner dot vatsim at me dot com

But I still need some more information, like what station you are trying to open, what sectors should be active ... just everything anyone needs to know who knows nothing about your airspace

I'm sorry if I've been sounding really ignorant, but as I said before, I am very new to ES. I think I figured out the problem. I didn't have the sector checked in the geo section of the display settings. I was trying to set up JFK_TWR and now the local area is black while the surrounding area is lighter. I think I've solved my problems for now. Thanks a lot for your help!

Hm, ok ... however that sounds a bit weird. GEO in display should not have anything to do with the sector turning black. The SECTOR section in display settings on the other hand would do that, but is only for testing.

Currently it sounds like you did not solve the problem, but are working around it by settings everything manually that should be working automatically (SECTOR + airports). So if I understand you correctly, your problem is not solved.
