Gary Feddema 1032654 Posted February 18, 2011 at 03:41 PM Posted February 18, 2011 at 03:41 PM The Ultimate Relay – March 12, 2011 – 20z-02z(+1) The Boston ARTCC, Minneapolis ARTCC, and Toronto FIR present a new event to the world of VATSIM, The Ultimate Relay. This event will feature the following airports, KBOS, CYYZ, and KMSP. The object of The Ultimate Relay is to fly as many legs between the featured airports as possible to gain points toward prizes that have been generously donated to our event. Each point you earn counts as one entry in the prize pool, only one prize allowed per pilot. Our facilities support these software developers by providing these free prizes to our committed pilots. These software developers have asked that we also make it known how damaging software piracy is to small developers. We support our sponsors in their hard work to stop piracy and support the legal enjoyment of their products. All round trip points total calculations are based on time required to fly the roundtrip. The best possible score can only be accomplished by completing “The Ultimate Relay” which is departing and landing all featured airports. Here is a list of all possible “Ultimate Relays” Possible Relay Flights: KMSP-KBOS-CYYZ-KMSP KMSP-CYYZ-KBOS-KMSP KBOS-KMSP-CYYZ-KBOS KBOS-CYYZ-KMSP-KBOS CYYZ-KBOS-KMSP-CYYZ CYYZ-KMSP-KBOS-CYYZ We invite you all to come out and fly with us on March 12 to try and gain points and possibly win one of our great prizes. Tim Murphy Posted March 14, 2011 at 12:11 PM Posted March 14, 2011 at 12:11 PM I flew the event on Saturday from BOS to MSP. The Boston controllers were so great. The ground controller has his hands full with one aircraft after another. He held his composure, even though the other pilots kept stepping on everyone. Bravo BOS_GND . Boston tower had me on my toes - holding short of the runway, departed the guy in front, then told me there was an aircraft 6nm final, and after a moment or so departed me - perfect planning, perfect seperation. Boston departure and Centre were very good as well - made it sound routine with the amount of traffic they were pushing. There was lots - constant 3 or 4 blips on my tcas. Kudos. MSP_CTR and APP were so cool, and fun. The tower controller was entertaining too - I aimed for an earlier taxi way, although I went three past it, my landing rate was -145.. thanks Ground was able to get me to where I was going easily with no delays. To all the controllers for this event, well done! Boston you always impress me. Thanks - I look forward to more great events.
