Initial ES Setup - Loosing Contents of Settings Files

I think I'm missing a step, or performing a step out of sequence.

After a refreshing installation of Euroscope, and the creation of an interim prf file, I copy a set of predefined settings files provided by our staff (.txt) to the default Settings folder. In the settings dialogue, I [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ociate each setting type with their respective .txt file. Once all have been [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned, I press save and continue my setup.

Having completed the setup, I create and save an ASR file based on my configuration.

I continue to close Euroscope, opting to save with each prompt of changes.

When I start up Euroscope again, I notice that the voice communication settings (voice channel) information is missing. When I go to the connect box, the login profile information is missing. Both these .txt files were complete at the time of installation and [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignment. However, nw they are empty. It requires me to recopy the login.txt and gnd-2-air.txt files and exit ES again to take effect.

What am I doing during the initial configuration that is causing me to lose the information in these files. I've been trying to help others install ES, but there is something I'm failing to do that is causing the loss of setting data.

I think you forgot to LOAD your files. If you just SAVE, then you overwrite the content of the files with the current settings.

Ah .. ok. "Load all settings" before saving.

I'll give it a go.

Thx.

still uncertain as to what I am doing wrong ...

Starting with fresh install, pre-defined settings files extracted to the default "Settings" directory. Both login and gnd-2-air files are full. In Euroscope, "Settings files setup". settings types all [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned the appropriate file (browse, select, save etc.). When all files [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned, exit, and select "Load all settings" from the Settings Menu. The message dialogue at the bottom of the display indicates all settings successfully loaded.

Create and save a profile.

Exit Euroscope ...

Save changes dialogue ... "new ASR has been modified. Do you want to save the changes?" - I select SAVE, and give it a unique file name. Save any additional settings changes.

Check my default settings directory, and now, again, both login and gnd-2-air files are empty. As such, executing ES with the profile created at initial configuration is pulling up null information from these files.

Still must be missing a step, or doing something out of order, or neglecting something.

Thoughts?

There is a LOAD button in that dialog ... use it

Thanks Stephen ...

Does the "Load" function in the Settings Files Dialogue do something different than the "Load all setings" selection in the settings menu? I've done that (from the settings menu) [Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming the two did the same thing.

If I load the settings from the dialogue after [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igning them all, do I igmore "Load all settings..." from the settings menu initally?

Load all settings is a completely different function.

Now you want to load the settings files you got from your vACC that are not yet part of your profile, so you need to load them in the settings files dialog. Then those files will be saved in the profile when saving the profile/closing ES.
