Thomas George 827476 Posted March 28, 2011 at 08:02 PM Posted March 28, 2011 at 08:02 PM VATSIM Europe Division in collaboration with vACCs Lithuania and Latvia is delighted to announce the creation of a new centre position covering the Baltic States; Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn FIRs. The frequency [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned is 132.32, squawk code allocations 1240-1256 and 6160-6177 and 6300-6317. Controllers are expected to provide top-down service for the three main airports of Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn but may extend this to cover more airports as able. The principle in terms of local manning is as with Eurocontrol; if underlying ATC connect in any of the three FIRs, control is delegated to these underlying facilities. We are releasing this on a trial basis initially and we hope that this will improve manning and attract traffic to the area. Congratulations to Peter, Miguel and the team in the Baltic states for getting this off the ground. Thomas George
