Dominik Trybuchowicz 11337 Posted April 20, 2011 at 08:15 PM Posted April 20, 2011 at 08:15 PM Hello everyone! Recently, I have encountered a BIG (I can't emphasize it enough) problem with PMDG MD-11. When I try to install a new livery to PMDG MD-11 from PMDG website, the MD-11 aircraft disappears from aircraft list in FSX (that happens when I install the livery while the FSX is running) or I can't start the FSX because I get a 'Fatal Error' (this happens when I install the livery with FSX not running). After that, when I start FSX, first I get a message saying something like this: 'Failed to open nonexistent directory: C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/ Flight Simulator X/texture' The only way to get rid of this problem is to reinstall the WINDOWS (yes, reinstall the WINDOWS!). I have tried twice, and twice I had to reinstall WINDOWS, which is not a very nice thing to do, when you have a lot of software installed etc. It is worth mentioning that, I never had this problem before and that I can still install some liveries (e.g. Swiss International) and everything works fine. Also, it is worth to say, that the Swiss livery was installed from the hard drive, while the FedEx or Monarch (examples which crashed my FSX) were installed directly from PMDG website (not 'save as', but 'open' and then I confirmed administrator right; I am running on Windows 7). I was thinking about downloading the FedEx livery and save it on the hard drive and then install it, but I am afraid, that I will have to reinstall the WINDOWS (reinstalling FSX doesn't help at all!) if something goes wrong (which is quite likely) I was thinking, that maybe someone could send me all the files that are installed by the auto setup when installing the livery, and I could add them myself, just as you do with freeware liveries made by others (editing the aircraft.cfg etc.; hopefully you know what I mean) Has anyone else faced this or similar problem? Thanks in advance (I would really appreciate if someone could try finding and sending me the files from livery installation) Kind Regards Dominik
