Richard Middleton 825564 Posted May 4, 2011 at 05:21 PM Posted May 4, 2011 at 05:21 PM Hi Pilots I am having difficulty with squawking I can not select the different modes available as a result cause problems with ATC when on line. Does Squawk mode C mean that it is transmitting the code ? I try to go to select the other mode with the mouse but no go. I would apprecate [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istance in solving my problem so that I fly on line My email is middletonfrances@yahoo .com Thank you Richard in Darkest Africa :
Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted May 4, 2011 at 05:24 PM Posted May 4, 2011 at 05:24 PM to put it simply Mode C = On STBY = Off IDENT = Flash if when you try to select mode C it goes back to STBY. that means your panel is controlling your transponder mode. youll need to do it from your aircraft panel instead. What's kind of irritating on my configuration is that selecting "alt" on my airplane panel does NOT update SquawkBox. I've nearly taken off with mode C off in SB since I see the airplane panel showing alt/Mode C, and forget that SB defaults to non-Mode C.
Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted May 4, 2011 at 07:06 PM Posted May 4, 2011 at 07:06 PM does it happen with all your aircraft or just one aircraft? in some just switching it to alt wont do it, you may see another option like mode S or somethin, thatll do it all depends on the panel. most freewares wont do it, paywares on the other hand will

It's a payware, but wasn't an expensive one (Carenado).
Richard Middleton 825564 Posted May 5, 2011 at 01:31 PM Author Posted May 5, 2011 at 01:31 PM Hi Richard here It only happens on a 737 400, the panel I downloaded from flightsim, I should have tried other aircraft right away, I quess I will have to look for another panel, pity because when I downloaded it the info said it was the best yet. Thanks a million for your help Brian, I am of the opinion that flight simmers are special people. Richard in Darkest Africa
