This group flight will follow President Barrack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and other US dignitaries to their first UK state visit. Marine One and decoy helicopter transports will depart the South Lawn of the White House at 10:45 am (1545z) on May 22nd, 2011, en route to Andrews AFB (KADW). Air Force 1, Air Force 2, contingent and decoy aircraft will depart Andrews AFB at 11 am EST (1600z) en-route to Heathrow International Airport (EGLL).

ATC coverage at Washington Center, London Center, and every where in between would be greatly appreciated. Anyone who would like to escort this Presidential group to our destination is more than happy to join, as long as you do not interfere with our operations or cause a disturbance on the frequency or for controllers.

Sincerely,

Thomas Cook

AF1 Pilot

Just want to confirm that Obama and Biden are flying together? Last time I checked, they never fly together, because the callsign would be Air Force 1 or 2, and that if they crashed, we have a problem.

Edit: Just re-read your post and it seems that they are flying on separate aircraft. My bad.

Brendan, thanks for re-reading

Clint (I love your first name), unfortunatly details about the Presidents itinerary are very secret at the moment. The Presidents and Vice Presidents security details are not sparing much information especially after the killing of Osama bin Laden fearing that it could result in a retaliation. I was not aware Stansted is regularly used by AF1 and AF2, but I will take this into consideration. I did know AF1 caused a major travel delay at Heathrow.....but when does AF1 NOT cause a travel delay for regular p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]engers? So, unless I hear otherwise from the White House or Downing Street, I am keeping it at Heathrow. On a separate note, AF1 decoy aircraft (SAM21000) will be going into Gatwick.

Hello

Could someone explain why for some reason via the link in my email I am denied access to this thread.
