Paul Roper 1188694 Posted May 23, 2011 at 12:06 AM Posted May 23, 2011 at 12:06 AM Hello I have an ASA aviation headset with the two large (0.25" and 0.206" in old money) plugs for the mic and headphones. I'd like to use this for VATSIM, but obviously I can't plug this directly into my Mac with its mini-jack ports. Has anyone tried using/making any adapters to connect an aviation headset to a PC/Mac? I don't know if the voltages/impedences would be compatible. I tried searcing this forum but could only find information about computer-specific (mainly USB) headsets. Maybe I'd be better off just buying a cheap-ish USB headset for VATSIM use? It's not like I need the (p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ive ) noise-cancelling capabilities of my aviation headset when sitting at my computer! Thanks in advance, Paul

Paul Roper 1188694 Posted May 23, 2011 at 12:42 AM Author Posted May 23, 2011 at 12:42 AM Thanks for the quick replies, Kyle and Ernesto. As with all things remotely connected to aviation, the prices for those adapters at Sporty's are kinda steeeeeep! Maybe I'll get my soldering iron out and see if I can put together a circuit like the one in Ernesto's link.
