Miguel Frias Posted June 9, 2011 at 10:10 AM Posted June 9, 2011 at 10:10 AM (edited) For those of you who don't know this yet, I have designed a tool that helps in the creation of sector files. It is located here: http://fsmine.dhis.org/euroscope/design/ The first version accepts files coming in from Google Earth where you draw the airport layout (or even a sector line layout) and save it as KMZ or KML. My tool will then convert the info to .SCT format with the necessary lines to be included in the [GEO] section. Recently, I updated the tool to include another useful thing. Sometimes we need to depict the AIP that says things like "draw a line from N46....W12.... to N45...W11... then an arc centered at X with radius 15" etc... This new feature will draw lines based on VOR/WPT/FIXES or their radials outbound at a specific distance. More.... it will also draw arcs centered at a navaid or lat/long where you specify the initial and final angles for the arc as well as the radius. The tool has an explanation of the syntax that can be used as well as a helper menu for starters. Enjoy! Miguel Frias Posted June 11, 2011 at 06:24 PM Author Posted June 11, 2011 at 06:24 PM Added: you can now also download the data from SkyView2 in SCT or ESE format. This means you can get the sector layout as it is defined in Eurocontrol and get it in SCT/ESE format.
