Wycliffe Barrett Posted December 7, 2005 at 03:41 PM Posted December 7, 2005 at 03:41 PM Hi all This post will be repeated in the UK Forum. I have been tinkering with the idea of organising a Welsh Flight Sim Show in the capitol of Wales Cardiff. The reason that this thought has been bothering me is that there is no event of this kind in Wales at all. Cardiff is the fastest growing capital city in EUROPE it's the home of the Worlds Famous Millenium Stadium, the spiritual home of Rugby and we have a pretty good International Airport with links to PARIS, Amsterdam Schipol and KLM hub as well as direct links to Canada and the US. Now I know that I'm talking to a limited group here on teh VATSIM Forums but I am hoping for your feedback as a gauge as to whether or not to continue with my embryonic plans. Please give me your feedback on the idea. Wycliffe Barrett Posted July 3, 2006 at 10:13 AM Author Posted July 3, 2006 at 10:13 AM Hi gareth I have kinda shelved the idea for the moment mostly because of poor response to my original email. Since that first post I have becomea member of a Flight Simulator Usres group over in Bristol, which is even closer to you. The other problem is that there are a number of shows taking place this year that are really going to mess things up for anything to take place here in cardiff. There will be the Bristol Show which if I recall is due in October then the hue IC show in The NEC Birmingham right before Christmas (check my site for details) http://www.wycliffebarrett.co.uk So that kind of screws it all up. If you fancy coming to the Bristol FSUG the next meeting after our summer break is September. Let me know and i will give you some directions and the date. It's quite a good gathering with some guys bringing along hardware and kit so we can all see whats happening. Bob Sidwick of RC Simulations comes by and shows us some goodies which is always a treat. The general format is normally about an hour of looking at kit and flying on others Pc's, then a talk and presentation and we have had some really good ones, then back to general chit chat getting to know each other and asking questions. I've learnt loads more than I knew already. We have some real world pilots and we always get a couple of controllers showing up. Myself included, so drop me a line and let me now if you want to come along.
