Aaron Schpitzer 1174936 Posted June 20, 2011 at 07:19 PM Posted June 20, 2011 at 07:19 PM Is there a detailed tutorial on how to create sectorfiles? I found one about using google earth but no details. 1174936, S3/P1 CZYZ FE CZUL, ZNY, ZOB, ZBW Visitor Canforce CEO
Jacques Malan 995061 Posted June 23, 2011 at 01:18 PM Posted June 23, 2011 at 01:18 PM Hi Aaron, If you are using Euroscope, there is a whole lot of information in the EuroscopeWiki (http://www.euroscope.hu) that will answer all your questions about building sector files. Aaron Schpitzer 1174936 Posted June 25, 2011 at 12:08 AM Author Posted June 25, 2011 at 12:08 AM Thanks, I've been there before but didn't know it had details on creating sectorfiles too, it cleared up allot. My only question now is how to make the GEO (airport layout, lakes, etc). I see how some sectorfiles look like someone drew them by hand. My goal is to make one that has straight lines and looks professional, is there any tool for that? thanks 1174936, S3/P1 CZYZ FE CZUL, ZNY, ZOB, ZBW Visitor Canforce CEO
Jacques Malan 995061 Posted June 26, 2011 at 07:37 AM Posted June 26, 2011 at 07:37 AM The easiest way for me to create GEO is to use the 'add path' feature in Google Earth, but it does not always corrospond to flight simulator scenery. For lakes and dams and other terrain features it is perfect, but you should always compare the runway and taxiway coordinates in flightsim. Good luck. Miguel Frias Posted June 28, 2011 at 01:54 PM Posted June 28, 2011 at 01:54 PM Aaron, The geo section can in fact be drawn over in Google Earth and then converted. However, there is a coastline database already that will generate the coastline inside a specific lat/long rectangle that you specify. It can then be converted to generate the .SCT formatted data. If you want, give me the rectangle area of the coastline you want and I'll get that as .SCT format for you. Miguel Frias Posted June 28, 2011 at 03:49 PM Posted June 28, 2011 at 03:49 PM Scott, I have that, programmed by me, but it's not webified or standalone. I can try to have that on my website soon (http://fs.mine.nu). Scott Diamond 1001574 Posted June 28, 2011 at 03:55 PM Posted June 28, 2011 at 03:55 PM Hi, that would be great to see on your website Miguel which I use for a few other things. In the meantime I've found IvAc Builder to convert NOAA to SCT. http://hsors.pagesperso-orange.fr/ivac.html Great tools you have created on your site. Abdelrahman M. Elfeky 1044 Posted July 19, 2011 at 02:38 PM Posted July 19, 2011 at 02:38 PM Fantastic tool indeed! However, I did try to use the output coordinates inside my sector-file and for some reason They didn't appear, I did try to use ASE and it did show the coastline. Pavel Brodsky Posted August 27, 2011 at 06:57 AM Posted August 27, 2011 at 06:57 AM Hello, I have a serious problem with developing ground monitoring system for ES - I am drawing it in Google Earth and then converting it using http://fs.mine.nu/euroscope/design/upload.cgi The problem is with green areas. I draw them in this way (quick example): I convert them and I get an error message *** Warning: style sn_ylw-pushpin has no color, using default (green)*** Warning: style sh_ylw-pushpin03 has no color, using default (green) And the result in ES looks like that: The code in SCT is [REGIONS] ; - rwy0624 rwy0624 9276813 N050.06.58.326 E014.16.23.541 N050.06.07.506 E014.13.33.957 N050.06.05.692 E014.13.35.261 N050.06.56.566 E014.16.24.864 ; - rwy1331 rwy1331 9276813 N050.05.26.422 E014.16.55.098 N050.06.29.640 E014.14.44.224 N050.06.28.074 E014.14.42.347 N050.05.24.886 E014.16.53.134 (and so far, for all my taxiways)... ; - gr[Mod - Happy Thoughts]_test gr[Mod - Happy Thoughts]_test 9276813 N050.05.31.609 E014.16.54.897 N050.05.36.023 E014.16.47.260 N050.05.32.897 E014.16.45.109 N050.05.32.800 E014.16.45.109 N050.05.29.076 E014.16.52.508 Pavel Brodsky VACC-CZ
Miguel Frias Posted August 27, 2011 at 11:44 AM Posted August 27, 2011 at 11:44 AM Hi Pavel, Make sure the polygon for the green area has the color you want in the "Lines" section in "Style, Color" (wheh editing an object in Google Earth). The "Area" section is ignored and the real color that is used is what's in "Line". So if you want to see it correctly, I'd suggest using the color you want in both fields.
