Rob Killins 897126 Posted June 28, 2011 at 01:08 AM Posted June 28, 2011 at 01:08 AM I am having visibility issues for which I am dumbfounded as to why they are happening. I am logged in an a center facility with the vis range set at 600NM. There are 4 vis points, each at 600NM, yet I was still unable to get voice contact on my primary frequency with many aircraft in my airspace. I can chat one on one if I initiate the chat, but they were unable to see me in their controller list to tune in to me on my primary frequency. What is odd, is some aircraft can communicate while others cannot. My neighbouring controllers could see me online in their controller lists. Not sure if I gave enough details to help isolate a potential problem, if not, I will provide more info as needed.
Johan Grauers Posted June 28, 2011 at 05:52 AM Posted June 28, 2011 at 05:52 AM I don't think this is a vis problem, did you confirm your primary frequency was set? Did you confirm the frequency details was correct? Did you confirm the voice server you typed in was working? All of these above can cause the symptoms you describe. Rob Killins 897126 Posted June 28, 2011 at 11:24 AM Author Posted June 28, 2011 at 11:24 AM Thank you Johan for your reply. You have provided me some direction I never would have considered. I will look back into those settings and report back either success or failure.
