Jonathan Cox 1122818 Posted June 28, 2011 at 11:16 PM Posted June 28, 2011 at 11:16 PM Good evening, Today I was trying to add in a few routes from the Oakland airport to a couple different airports in California. When I tried to submit something with the Skyline3 or Coast5 departures, I get the following error: ERROR: Unknown airway/waypoint COAST (or SXC is not part of COAST, or COAST is an airway that does not include KOAK) I know this can't be correct, I am a ZOA controller and these are two common departure procedures out of Oakland. I am using the latest AIRAC cycle (1106). Is there any way to correct this? Thanks, Jonathan Jonathan Cox 1122818 | C1 Oakland ARTCC Events Coordinator, Mentor Anchorage ARTCC Visiting Controller
Michal Rok Posted June 29, 2011 at 06:24 AM Posted June 29, 2011 at 06:24 AM hi, vroute does not know SID/STAR procedures and expects the first enroute waypoint instead. Exception is when procedure is by "accident" (a very very common one in Europe) named after the transition waypoint that connects them with the airway system. For instance, when you say EPWA departure LOLSI2G, vroute reads "LOLSI waypoint". In your case, COAST was not a valid waypoint.
