Does anyone have any experience running ES in linux under an emu like wine? Does it work nicely, or am I better off setting up a virtual machine with XP or whatever?

Euroscope uses .NET framework version 2.0 to communicate with Windows OS, such program is not available under Linux. Best thing to do is to use programs like vmware and create a virtual PC based on Xp or Win7 and make sure you install .NET v2 or higher.

Actually EuroScope does not use any kind of .NET for running. Only the installer requires it.
