Christopher Mauro Posted June 30, 2011 at 08:55 PM Posted June 30, 2011 at 08:55 PM I just upgraded to Windows 7. After I start VRC, create a profile, and restart it again, it freezes. Everytime. I've tried reinstalling VRC multiple times, but that did not work. Chris Mauro
Ross Carlson Posted June 30, 2011 at 09:09 PM Posted June 30, 2011 at 09:09 PM Did you try running it as an administrator? Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC
Christopher Mauro Posted June 30, 2011 at 09:11 PM Author Posted June 30, 2011 at 09:11 PM That didn't work either. Chris Mauro
Christopher Mauro Posted June 30, 2011 at 11:29 PM Author Posted June 30, 2011 at 11:29 PM I fixed it. The security settings for my VRC.ini weren't set to full control. Chris Mauro
Ross Carlson Posted June 30, 2011 at 11:37 PM Posted June 30, 2011 at 11:37 PM Let us know if that does it ... would be helpful info. Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC
Christopher Mauro Posted July 1, 2011 at 01:11 AM Author Posted July 1, 2011 at 01:11 AM That did it. Chris Mauro
Christopher Mauro Posted July 1, 2011 at 10:45 PM Author Posted July 1, 2011 at 10:45 PM Okay. That didn't do it.. Honestly. It worked last night. Then, I came on just now and it is still freezing. And I determined that it only freezes when I open up a session profile. If I open up the default profile, I have no problems. I even tried running it from my desktop (installing it to my desktop). Also, this is how the icon looks on my desktop. Chris Mauro
Christopher Mauro Posted July 2, 2011 at 12:27 AM Author Posted July 2, 2011 at 12:27 AM EDIT: Still doesn't work. Please. Anyone know why my VRC is doing this upon startup of a profile? Chris Mauro
Christopher Mauro Posted July 6, 2011 at 01:30 AM Author Posted July 6, 2011 at 01:30 AM I figured it out! No one of my profiles were working, and the only one that worked was the Default one. So I thought... what do they all have in common.. The Alias file. Chris Mauro
Ross Carlson Posted July 6, 2011 at 02:01 AM Posted July 6, 2011 at 02:01 AM I'd love a copy of that alias file so that I can make VRC (and vSTARS) handle it more elegantly. Christopher Mauro Posted July 6, 2011 at 02:05 AM Author Posted July 6, 2011 at 02:05 AM It's funny because the alias file worked when I used XP. Since I went to 7, it is "corrupt." I'd appreciate it if you checked it and see what is wrong with it.. What is your email address? I'll send you a copy. I did test one of my profiles with another alias file, and it worked.. so that is also how I came to that conclusion. Chris Mauro
