This Notice To Airmen is to give you a heads-up about some important news in the region mainly, and in Vatsim generally. Here we go: 1. New domain for VATAME website: you can now access VATAME at http://www.vatame.net . Website has lots of info about all the countries within the region. 2. vACC-EG: vACC Egypt is now active, under the lead of Mr. Ali Abou-Zeid and his crew. check them out at http://www.egypt-vacc.org . 3. VATSAF: With great satisfaction I announce the (re)opening of Vatsim South African division, now called VATSAF. The new division director, Mr. Wayne Higgins plans to develop VATSAF to be a symbol of both professionalism and friendship. We wish him the best of luck, and invite you all to fly in this beautiful country. Visit them at http://www.vatsaf.net . 4. VATGLF: For several months we are running this special station called Gulf Center, Gulf_FSS. This center controls the whole Persian Gulf area, extended west to Jordan and Syria. Countries covered are: Oman, Bahrain, UAE, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Yemen and Saudi Arabia. In the future we are considering to officially add Jordan and Syria. There is an update to Serveinfo, you can download and read about it in my post here - http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?=3829&highlight=gulffss . In the future we will develop a website, regulations and everything else needed for a formal VATSIM division. 5. New software developments: New version of FSINN (1.1) and SB3 (3.0.4)were introduced lately, and can be reached through vatsim.net (http://vatsim.net/links/links31.html). A new ATC client is also in the making, and you can read about this wonderful piece of software here - http://www.metacraft.com/vrc/ 6. VATSIM Pilot Resource Center: The PRC now contains charts for many airports around the world - worth a visit! New pilots, do not forget that the VATSIM PRC is *for you* and it contains all the information you may need to start in VATSIM. Visit http://vatsim.net/prc to access this rich database of information you need. 7. Other activity: There is some ongoing activity also in Lebanon, Tunisia, Jordan, Central Africa and some other places within our region. We hope to introduce more divisions and vACCs in the near future! 8. Major events: a. Christmas Flyin to Bagdhad - organized by Atlantic Aviation Virtual Airlines along With American Virtual Airlines, and planned for December 17th. Wayne Higgins 838379 Posted April 6, 2006 at 10:18 PM Posted April 6, 2006 at 10:18 PM To further our endeavours to bring the Virtual world in line with the real world, I announce the UNICOM frequency for South African aviators and Controllers as amended from 122.8Mhz to 124.8Mhz with immediate effect. As a Pilots you are requested to note this change in your remarks field for others to learn (or as a controller in your ATIS) for at least the next 4 weeks. Fellow pilots (especially foreign) must be requested to broadcast their intentions on 124.8 when OUT OF Controlled airpace. Pilots flying in UNCONTROLLED airspace are requested to do AIREPs every 10 mins on voice and/or text.Any pilots flying in the VATSAF Airpace on the old frequency, will be notified of this change and requested to broadcast on 124.8.Your cooperation is gratefully appreciated.
