Wycliffe Barrett Posted August 4, 2011 at 10:08 AM Posted August 4, 2011 at 10:08 AM (edited) The GPS function and the default aircraft are not the best for flying online on the VATSIM environment, because of your statement of not being able to use the gps function in the default aircraft. There is however a very nice freeware programme available that can add some realism to the default aircraft and that is VASfmc, once again google is your best friend, do a search install the software and read the manual. Reading manuals is incredibly helpful, I am astounded at the dedication of developers to include manauls for their products. Kenneth Haught Posted August 4, 2011 at 09:49 PM Posted August 4, 2011 at 09:49 PM Karim- In the paid version (and perhaps in the free one as well) of vRoute there is an option to Export (the tab is available once you have clicked "show" on the route page). Fill in the details for aircraft, etc and on the format box you should see an option to export to FS2004/FSX. Download the appropriate format and save it in /Docomeents/Flight Simulator (FS save location). Load FS, and on the route planner click on "Load route" (or similar) and select the downloaded file. If it all works the way it should...the route info from vroute should now be in your GPS. Doesn't off a lot of functionality for default planes, but it will at least load the route plan for you. Michael Pike Posted August 7, 2011 at 11:34 PM Posted August 7, 2011 at 11:34 PM vasFMC has a facility to load a route from vRoute directly into the FMC. You don't need to open vRoute at all. Just put your departure point and destination codes into vasFMC (Eg: - EIDW/EGLL) and request the route. Yes it works with default aircraft.
