Hi All!

Never really had any issues with my FS before, this afternoon i installed some freeware scenery, it didnt seem to work as the textures were seemingly non-existant so i uninstalled it, anyhow i then restarted FS9 and on the blue "Ocean" Screen, it just dissapeered back to the desktop....

I have tried following these steps http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837195 Upto and including Step 4 to no avail,

any help offered would be appreciated!

Cheers!

James.

Two solutions come to mind:

1) Restore your system to an earlier point before the original scenery install. This is always the quickest and easiest fix for me. I almost always create a system "restore point" before install new scenery for this "just in case" purpose.

2) Install the scenery anywhere except in FS9 folder and look to see what files it installed into FS9 when you installed it the first time. Check to make sure those files "uninstalled" and some weren't left behind. One thing I would look for when you reinstall it somewhere else to see what the file/folder makeup is would be for any APXXXXX, ABXXXXX, HPXXXXX, etc, where the "x's" are numbers. These are typically default scenery "group" (multiple airfields/sceneries in geographical areas) .bgl files and if your uninstall removed them then you lost the default file it replaced.

Other than those two suggestions I am lost.

Good Luck.
