Rahul Parkar Posted August 26, 2011 at 10:48 AM Posted August 26, 2011 at 10:48 AM I haven't looked at the data file, but wouldn't a quick "Hack" sort of way of doing it be putting "LON_N" as the prefix in the data file mean that it always comes true when "LON_N_CTR" comes online? Just a thought. Cheers! Rahul Rahul Parkar "On second thoughts Nappa, catch it, catch it with your teeth" -- Vegeta Professional Nerd. Johan Grauers Posted August 26, 2011 at 11:15 AM Posted August 26, 2011 at 11:15 AM AFAIK , no, vatspy seems to read until the first underscore (Ross can you confirm this?). At least that's I belive the conclusion they made when designing the ENBD-S sector. Johan Grauers Event Coordinator - vACC Scandinavia
Aaron Schpitzer 1174936 Posted August 27, 2011 at 11:43 PM Posted August 27, 2011 at 11:43 PM I'm not a controller in Moncton but I do have the CZQM/CZQX sectorfile if you are looking for coordinates, I can upload it if u like. Also, is it possible for when CYXU_APP signs on that the CYHM_APP bubble pops up as well. Because CYXU_APP controls CYHM when he is not online and vice versa. keep geting pilots who dont know and depart without clearance. Just wondering if it is possible, no luck so far trying to figure it out. Johan Grauers Posted August 28, 2011 at 10:54 AM Posted August 28, 2011 at 10:54 AM AFAIK I know, it isn't, an approach sector can only light up one "ring". The easiest is probably to do what we do in Sweden, write in the controller info what the sector covers, for example Stockholm Control Covering ESSA,ESSB,ESOW,ESCM,ESSU (Afis) or Sweden control Providing terminal service for ESMS and ESMK up to FL285. It's not failsafe but it's something anyway. Johan Grauers Event Coordinator - vACC Scandinavia

Johan Grauers Posted August 28, 2011 at 11:31 AM Posted August 28, 2011 at 11:31 AM I've posted it on the UK board but not much comment so far, also David is in NY (where Irene is approaching) so this development will most likely wait a while for that to clear up (it's after all David doing all the work here, I'm just being annoying and commenting on errors ). We only ever get the tail end (to coin a phrase) in the UK and have no conception generally speaking, in reality of weather of such nature. Johan Grauers Posted August 28, 2011 at 11:42 AM Posted August 28, 2011 at 11:42 AM Same here in Sweden, but (like the UK) we think we do get horrible weather because every year the Swedish trains plunge into chaos: "Oh my, it's snowing, this year again ?!". It's been like that for the last 3 years now I belive. Just like the UK completely shut down when there suddenly was snow, from what I've heard at Heathrow the BAA said a few months earlier that they didn't need around 200 people and laid them off. The only problem was that these people were the ones who were supposed to clear snow when requiered, and we all know how it went when the snow came . But then again, in London there rarely is snow and when it falls it's not that much, but Sweden (at least the north parts) have snow every single year, and still they stand there every year going "no we weren't expecting this extreme weather" . Randy Tyndall 1087023 Posted December 20, 2011 at 01:00 AM Posted December 20, 2011 at 01:00 AM David, Just out of curiousity, I use VATSPY solely as a pilot trying to keep tabs of other pilots and which ATC are online. I have downloaded Updatev1 and v1.1 as well as the two files in Aaron's post concerning Canada. What should I install? I'm [Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming v1 and v1.1 in that order, but the Canadian downloads also? There were two downloads there, one just was titled VATSPY and the other FIR Boundaries or some such name. I guess what I'm asking is this stuff for controllers more so than pilots or both equally? What will I see different if I install and will the installs change the preferences I already have set; i.e., color of land, caostal borders, water, etc? I'm not very computer savvy and it took me a long time to get VATSPY to look the way I wanted it to. I'd hate to have these updates "overwrite" everything I've done and have to start from scratch just to see new boundaries. Ervins Reinverts Posted December 22, 2011 at 09:54 PM Posted December 22, 2011 at 09:54 PM There is one thing about the Baltic Control 132.32 - on one hand, it is like UIR as it covers 4 FIRs, but on the other hand the UIR status is somewhat misleading to pilots, saying it covers the FIR above FL245. Really, BALT_CTR is providing service down to the tower/ground when there is no respective ATCos online. So, probably it would be better to define it as a FIR - if I understand correctly, there is the same thing with ENOR and LDZO.
