How do I initially connect to the vatsim network? Is it through my flight simulator 2004 and FSInn?

Yes, you can either use FSINN or SB3, they will create the multiplayer session and everything for you. In SB3 you press a button (I can't remember what it's name is right now ) but its the only one on the window. Then you press connect fill everything in and boom your there. As for FSINN you start it up and in the main control panel press the button at the very top (will be orange) and it will turn green. Then along the left edge press the VATSIM button and your connected!
