Finn Hutter Posted October 7, 2011 at 05:09 PM Posted October 7, 2011 at 05:09 PM Okay so when I have Chrome/email/whatever as my primary focus VRC's voice stops working, and I have to hit my push to talk key to get it to actually work. Is there a workaround for this or am I stuck hitting my PTT every now and again for my voice to keep working?

Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted October 7, 2011 at 09:48 PM Board of Governors Posted October 7, 2011 at 09:48 PM Just checking, but did you follow the VRC installation instructions that require (in red, too!) you to forward port 3290? http://www.metacraft.com/VRC/docs/doc.php?page=installing_or_upgrading_vrc Also, forum searches are your friend..... viewtopic.php?f=52&t=41211&p=304925&hilit=timeout#p304925 I don't believe it has anything to do with your operating system or other software. It sounds like the famous UDP timeout. Suggest you search the VATSIM forums, VRC forums, and worst case Google, for information on forwarding port 3290. In rare cases, antivirus firewalls have also created an issue. Start with the forwarding first. Let us know how you make out. Finn Hutter Posted October 7, 2011 at 09:52 PM Author Posted October 7, 2011 at 09:52 PM Will give it a whirl, isn't an issue unless VRC isn't my primary focus so didn't think it was that. I tried google searches/vatsim forum searches but I guess my searching skills are lacking. Will give that a try and see how it goes
