Derek Hood Posted November 5, 2011 at 01:37 AM Posted November 5, 2011 at 01:37 AM Thats 44.5hrs of flying with no breaks. Total distance 24403NM.....Thats definitely not possible in one day. Derek
Trent Stevens 1028473 Posted November 5, 2011 at 01:57 AM Posted November 5, 2011 at 01:57 AM 24403nm = 45194km. So using the good old speed equals distance over time equation, to do that in 24 hours your A380 would need to average 1883km/h. Can't wait to see that. Trent Hopkinson Posted November 5, 2011 at 04:43 AM Posted November 5, 2011 at 04:43 AM 24403nm = 45194km. So using the good old speed equals distance over time equation, to do that in 24 hours your A380 would need to average 1883km/h. or, a speed more relatable to us virtual aviators of heavy jets... that's an average of 1017 knots groundspeed. Considering normal mach 0.85 cruise is about 490 - 500 knots... and that doesn't include the 'loopback' from LFPG to EGLL as far as I can tell. I remember doing a "quick as possible" round the world a few years back. I believe YSSY - KSFO - OMDB - YSSY was found to be one of the quicker routes. Still took about 40 hours or so. If I were to do it now, I'd probably do YSSY - KDFW - OMDB - YSSY Trent Hopkinson YMML. www.youtube.com/musicalaviator WorldFlight 2002,2008,2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2015
