As Ground Control I find it helpfull if the rnwy. numbers align with the end of the runways. How can I reposition out of place numbers to the correct position ie. at the end of the runway in question

If I could post an attachment on the forum all would be clear. I do not know how to do this or if it is even allowed.

Do you mean "free text" on your screen / scope that mark the runway numbers?

As you can probably see there are no runway numbers indicated. I cannot also find reference to them in the .sct file.

Here is a pic of what I mean.

OK, I get it now.

Two ways of making them show.

1. Open the .sct file, and find the section [RUNWAY]. Then find the airport you are looking for, and before the ";" add the ICAO 4 letter code. So a line like this

09 27 091 271 N042.41.54.210 E023.23.34.220 N042.41.45.200 E023.26.26.230 ;LBSF Sofia airport NEW

is now like this

09 27 091 271 N042.41.54.210 E023.23.34.220 N042.41.45.200 E023.26.26.230 LBSF;LBSF Sofia airport NEW

Load the file again in ES, go to "Other Settings -> Display Settings->Runways" find the airport you just edited and select name.

2. Again open the sct file and go to the [RUNWAY]. Copy the the coordinates at the beginning (in the above example N042.41.54.210 E023.23.34.220 and N042.41.45.200 E023.26.26.230), these are the coordinates of the runway. Then open the .ese file, go to the [FREETEXT] section you are showing and add the coordinates as follows:

N042.41.54.210:E023.23.34.220:09 (or Rwy 09 or what ever you want to be shown)
N042.41.45.200:E023.26.26.230:27 (or Rwy 27 or what ever you want to be shown)

That will show then in the [FREETEXT] part in the "Display Settings"

You can do one of the above methods, you can do the both, it is up to you.

P.S. Looking at your picture the runways number are shown, but the airport looks like is offset to the North.

Many thanks Todor, your reply was most helpfull even though I have not yet tried them. As you observed the airport in question does appear to be offset North however when I am on a parking in FS9 at this airport my aircraft shows up at that parking, with FSX at the same location the aircraft shows about 0.2 miles South of the parking position. Most puzzling but I guess that is the difference between FS9 and FSX. Will try your methods a little later in the day. One problem is that as acting Groun Control within our SimGroup is that our Sim flyers have different simulations ie. FS9 and FSX, makes for an interesting day on Euroscope !
