Morten Jelle Posted November 13, 2011 at 09:38 PM Posted November 13, 2011 at 09:38 PM Hi there, Me and a fellow danish member, is trying to update our sectorfiles. However it seems, the changed airways data in the .sct file, isn't loaded by Euroscope. I realised that, if i load FSNavigator airway.txt it worked. But this is the first time i had to do that, to get the right fixes and airways in the FPL Dialog. Is it possible to get ES to use the data from the sectorfile and not airways.txt? Abdelrahman M. Elfeky 1044 Posted November 14, 2011 at 05:59 AM Posted November 14, 2011 at 05:59 AM I suggest you use this tool. It's beta and there are few bugs but still provide you with basic layout, you can develop the output further to add AFCAD's and GEO data. https://sites.google.com/site/vatsimtools/sected Regards,,,
Rahul Parkar Posted November 14, 2011 at 07:34 AM Posted November 14, 2011 at 07:34 AM Abdel, To my understanding the OP is asking the developer whether it is possible for a sector file to override the World Airways file used by Euroscope, not how to build or edit sector files. Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted November 14, 2011 at 11:03 AM Posted November 14, 2011 at 11:03 AM The FSNavigator database takes priority over the .sct file as it has the data needed to extract the route. If a fix/VOR/NDB can't be found in that database, then the sct file is searched. ES can work only with the airways in the .sct file, but the route will not be extracted as fully or correctly as if it was taken from the database. Ok, to give you the exact problem: UT503 doesn't exist anymore, and T503 is now going from NEXEN-GIMRU-MIC. However, when pilots filling NEXEN T503 MIC, Euroscope goes direct NEXEN-MIC, even if it is written correctly into the sectorfile, shouldn't Euroscope then recognize the route correct if you don't have then newest airways.txt? Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted November 16, 2011 at 04:03 AM Posted November 16, 2011 at 04:03 AM Dose pilots file FL below FL245? EuroScope BETA Tester/Board of Designers
Morten Jelle Posted November 16, 2011 at 08:28 AM Author Posted November 16, 2011 at 08:28 AM No, they are filling above, but that shouldn't be the problem either as T503 is set to be available in all levels. Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted November 16, 2011 at 12:43 PM Posted November 16, 2011 at 12:43 PM Are you sure? Is it available in the AIP or in the airway.txt file. In the Airac 1111 it is both upper and lower between NEXEN and GIMRU, but between GIMRU and MIC is only lower. Test by simply file a flight plan with Cruse FL230/220 and see the result.
