Randy Tyndall 1087023 Posted November 16, 2011 at 02:23 PM Posted November 16, 2011 at 02:23 PM Wow, I have always had good luck dealing with the distributors of both freeware and payware, but I'm beginning to see why there is a lot of negativity toward Captain Sim. I submitted a KB Ticket through their support link for the following problem: There is no sound in correlation with cycling the generator switch for the number 1 engine in my CS Lengedary C-130 for FS9. There are sounds for number 2,3, and 4 as well as the ATM, but not number 1. I was hoping it would be a simple fix like the "Traffic, Traffic" that was [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ociated with the taxi lights switch. Instead I got an email this morning that said my KB Ticket was cancelled. The problem had already been discussed in the CS Knowledge Base...which I searched for 2 hours yesterday to no avail. The message said please refer to KB#1004 for my answer. Well, at least they pointed me to the right one...hah! Here is KB#1004 in it's entirety: 1.Q: FS9 product: I experience a problem not listed in the KB.A: If you experience some problems with our FS9 product not covered by the Knowledge Base and Manuals please reinstall the product and try again. If you have problems with installation/activation please try to activate our FS9 product Manually Offline. Also you can try to search our Forum for users' tips and tricks. If that does not help, unfortunately we are unable to help any further because most of the products were developed many years ago so computer hardware and software changed dramatically. Therefore some features of the product may not work properly. Unfortunately we do not track any FS9 product issues anymore because development of all products for FS9 has been discontinued so please do not expect any upgrades. All FS9 products are on sale at discounted price. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We would recommend to consider FSX version of the product if available. If you cannot install/activate a product you can request a refund for the Unused Product within 30 days of purchase. From: General / General (QID 1004) That's it? Sorry, you have FS9 and that's old and outdated? Reinstall...for a switch sound? I would fix it myself if I knew which line in the sound.ini covered the generator switches, but they aren't identified... Captain Sim is not getting a Christmas Card from me this year. I've games that only run in MS-Dos still work on win7. and i love this from their support site We do continue development of the 707, 727, 757, 767 and C-130 series as our key products.
