Sava Markovic 1109329 Posted November 25, 2011 at 08:21 PM Posted November 25, 2011 at 08:21 PM I believe that you must create your own voice server. The better option if you ask me is to either use TeamSpeak or create a channel on one of the voice servers that already exists. So for example, You and your friend are flying together so you go to SquawkBox>Private Voice Channel>Join a Channel There you type in one of the voice servers (voice.vateud.net rw.liveatc.net for example ) and name the channel as you wish So you get something like that voice.vateud.net/myva From there you can invite your friend so you can talk Anyhow, get TeamSpeak, it is way better! Sorry If this answer was not what you are looking for, I am a bit tired Sava Markovic SCGvACC Events Coordinator

Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted November 25, 2011 at 10:51 PM Posted November 25, 2011 at 10:51 PM if you want to host it on your domain. i believe you would need to download the server software to be put on your server. then you can have a server like rw.me.com otherwise youll have to use one of the current voice servers. also im not sure what the rules are with choosing those. for example you can choose rw.liveatc.net/brandon. but again you may want to check what the rules are with those
Romano Lara Posted November 26, 2011 at 12:13 AM Posted November 26, 2011 at 12:13 AM You can freely create your private voice channel, provided that users present are observing the CoC/CoR, after all, you are still using one of the network's server, or perhaps services. Otherwise you can just purchase a TeamSpeak server. It comes really cheap these days, I think you can get one for only $20/month, then just sign up for a NPL. Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted November 26, 2011 at 01:22 AM Posted November 26, 2011 at 01:22 AM the old days i believe roger wilco base station was the one used, im pretty sure thats changed, as far as VATSIM voice goes anyway, you can probably use that one on your own server without problems. edit: yep according to this post VATSIM doesnt use RWBS anymore viewtopic.php?f=68&t=49788 you can also download the teamspeak one as romano mentioned above, you can have one hosted by teamspeak or host your own. Marc Wheeler Posted November 28, 2011 at 01:08 PM Posted November 28, 2011 at 01:08 PM I agree with Sava, TeamSpeak is the way to go. With TeamSpeak, a pilot doesn't have to be connected to VATSIM in order to be able to chat with other pilots and you don't have to worry about exceeding your idle time connected as an observer just to use the private channel.
