Kevin Shires 1199920 Posted November 23, 2011 at 01:08 PM Posted November 23, 2011 at 01:08 PM I am carrying out some corrections to a Ground Controller situation by adding parking areas to an existing airport in the .sct file. Is there anyway I can accurately designate the size and position within the .sct file. I see that they are made up of 8 sides but am a little puzzled how they are aquired. bo I have to designat all the co-ordinates (not very accurate) or is there another method. Miguel Frias Posted November 23, 2011 at 02:01 PM Posted November 23, 2011 at 02:01 PM Kevin, Drawing of sector files can be done manually (hurts) or using tools. It depends want you want to change. In Euroscope you can use the ".sline" command to draw points and therefore generate line segments to form any geometric item you want. You can also draw on top of Google Earth for instance, which gives you a very realistic sector file, even if it doesn't map to the airport scenery. After drawing in Google Earth you can use my tool to get it into sector file format: http://fs.mine.nu/euroscope/design/ You can also specify FIXES/VORs or NDBs as references to the lines you want to draw, very useful for TMA restrictions where you know the "rules" of the drawing (eg: Line from VOR ABC to VOR DEF then an arc centered in DEF with 15nm radius....) Once again many thanks,
