Deon Mathews Posted November 28, 2011 at 03:41 AM Posted November 28, 2011 at 03:41 AM LANSERIA (FALA) Fly In - Sunday December 3, 2011 Officially opened on August 16, 1974. On that day, a Learjet ZS-MTD became the first jet to land at Lanseria International Airport. Over time the airport has expanded and has seen several major upgrades. Today Lanseria International Airport is more geared than ever before to meet the high demands of international aviation. Hosting everything from ultralight aircraft to scheduled medium sized jets including the Airbus A319/320, the Boeing 737 family, the occational Ilyshin 76 and now for the first time, an online VATSAF FLY-IN event. Anything goes (that is, anything that can land and depart on a 2980m long runway with a 4500ft elevation). IFR or VFR. Starting Sunday December 3, 2011 from 17h00z (19h00 local) till 20h00z. Lets hope for wind that favours RWY06 as there is no ILS for RWY24. Going to be interesting!? Safe landings...
