Keith Hackett 811851 Posted December 20, 2011 at 05:56 PM Posted December 20, 2011 at 05:56 PM Hi, Hi, I am using FSX. I am edging closer to getting all the required software to start online flights. I have installed FS Copilot 1.7/FSINN 1.3 and Teamspeak 3. I have been able to connect FSINN to Vatsim Europe C2 server and see the online controllers in the ATC list. I have tuned my radio to their freq but they dont hear me when I talk?. I have set Teamspeak to voice activate (I have a switch on my mic). I have set FSINN to "use Teamspeak on this computer" and ticked the necessary TS box. Do I have to connect manually to the Vatsim teamspeak server? i.e 78.46.90.61 ?? I tried this but when I entered the arrivals lounge I had a cross next to my name which said something like "low talk power" ?? Any help appreciated regards keith
Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted December 20, 2011 at 06:00 PM Posted December 20, 2011 at 06:00 PM we dont use teamspeak to communicate with ATC on VATSIM. please set your settings back to VVL so you will be able to use the built in voice please see the FSINN section for instructions. Keith Hackett 811851 Posted December 20, 2011 at 06:29 PM Author Posted December 20, 2011 at 06:29 PM Yep, that was it thanks Ernesto. I shall listen in for a bit before I get the courage to go for my first flight! Have a good christmas regards keith BTW Ernesto, the reason I wasn't originally seeing the controllers arrive in the ATC list was because when FSINN starts up it puts FSX into pause mode and it wasn't until I un-paused it they all showed up! Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted December 20, 2011 at 06:34 PM Posted December 20, 2011 at 06:34 PM no worries, dont forget to have fun while you are at it mistakes are inevitable. even the real world folks arent perfect. as long as you are having fun flying online, thats all that counts the pause issue. theres an option in your FSX general settings "disable pause on task switch" itll stop that
Miguel Frias Posted December 20, 2011 at 09:05 PM Posted December 20, 2011 at 09:05 PM Keith, I strongly recommend a look at the Pilot Resource Center here: http://www.vatsim.net/pilots/quickstart/ As it says it's a quick start, and is meant to set you up quickly. Failure to do so will probably place you in an embarr[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ing position, enfuriate an ATC and make you have a bad initial experience.
