Richard Stevens 1116018 Posted January 13, 2012 at 06:23 PM Posted January 13, 2012 at 06:23 PM Hello Again, I am currently running an i7-930 at 2.8 Ghz, with 6 Gigs of memory, GTX 280, and a 750 watt power supply. I'd like to run a little faster to support some of the more intesive addons, as well as prepare for Microsoft Flight (I doubt I jump in right away). Any reccomendations? I'm open to just about anything. I built my current PC myself so I'm somewhat confident about cracking it open again. A few ideas I had myself were... 1. OC the processor. I've never done this before, makes me nervous. 2. Upgrade the CPU to another 1366 processor. 3. New Motherboard with a newfangled (country speak for "fancy") sandy bridge processor. If this is the case, would there be any considerations for any other hardware I am currently using? 4. Graphics Card? I'm not restricted by cash, but I'm rather frugal. Any Ideas? What do ya'll have? Thanks, Rick Stevens
Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted January 13, 2012 at 06:56 PM Posted January 13, 2012 at 06:56 PM you wont need to change much for Flight. its not as hardware intense as FSX. what you have will run it just fine (currently)
Richard Stevens 1116018 Posted January 13, 2012 at 08:14 PM Author Posted January 13, 2012 at 08:14 PM Thanks for the good news Mr. Alvarez! If I were to stick with FSX for the time being, which of the prospective mods would [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist me to best run a frame hungry aircraft, with some strength yet to power REX. P.S. This forum is great! Thanks Again.
William Sequeira 1192651 Posted January 13, 2012 at 08:21 PM Posted January 13, 2012 at 08:21 PM For FSX and its addons, I would OC that chip, and think about a newer GPU, even though I am sure it already runs fine. For flight, you are way ahead of what is needed to run Her full max. As stated above though, for now.
