Rahul Parkar Posted January 21, 2012 at 06:46 PM Posted January 21, 2012 at 06:46 PM (edited) Hey Guys, I've decided that until Ross has set up a permanent solution for updating NavData that I would go ahead and provide you guys with an update myself. It can be downloaded here -- (To be re-uploaded) Download the file and unzip it into your Appdata/vSTARS/NavData folder. To get to your AppData/vSTARS folder in Windows XP, 1. Start->Run 2. Enter "%AppData%/vSTARS" into the window without quotes 3. Unzip the XML into the NavData folder, back up the original Waypoints.xml In Windows 7, 1.Start 2. Enter "%AppData%/vSTARS" into the search bar and open the folder. 3. Unzip the XML into the NavData folder, back up the original Waypoints.xml This has been compiled using AIRAC 1201 Data. If you have any issues or discrepancies, let me know. Updated 09/02/2012, Please re-download if you have an earlier version. Cheers! Gene Cao 1100087 Posted January 21, 2012 at 11:24 PM Posted January 21, 2012 at 11:24 PM Is this using the navigraph navdata? Fixes are missing in the navigraph one that I would love to be able to add.
Rahul Parkar Posted January 22, 2012 at 04:11 AM Author Posted January 22, 2012 at 04:11 AM Part of the data does come from Navigraph, but that is not US data. If you have any missing fixes, let me know and I can amend my files and send discrepancies to my provider. Cheers! Marvin Palmer Posted January 22, 2012 at 04:23 PM Posted January 22, 2012 at 04:23 PM If you have any missing fixes, let me know and I can amend my files Rahul, what method did you use to update the file...I ask because I want to update my files but to just the area (radar range). I don't think its necessary to have waypoints in another ARTCC...I've downloaded yours because it had the new waypoints!
Rahul Parkar Posted January 22, 2012 at 04:30 PM Author Posted January 22, 2012 at 04:30 PM I use access to data I obtained from another project I've been working on. I could happily sort something out with you, temporarily of course, until Ross gets his update method up and running. Cheers! I want to make sure that the source I plan to use (FADDS subscription) has them. Marvin Palmer Posted January 22, 2012 at 07:21 PM Posted January 22, 2012 at 07:21 PM Ross, I use FADDS, but I'd like to maintain just around the Radar sites, not necessary to maintain the entire ARTCC. I use the 60NM box around ANC and thats all is needed really. I just need a way of converting it to your format for use is all.
Ross Carlson Posted January 22, 2012 at 07:26 PM Posted January 22, 2012 at 07:26 PM Marvin, you mentioned that Rahul's file had some waypoints you were looking for that were missing from the AIRAC that vSTARS shipped with. What were those waypoints? Developer: vPilot, VRC, vSTARS, vERAM, VAT-Spy Senior Controller, Boston Virtual ARTCC
Marvin Palmer Posted January 22, 2012 at 07:34 PM Posted January 22, 2012 at 07:34 PM What were those waypoints? Ross, they were the new ones that will take effect 09 FEB. It seems that alot of fixes are changing, or just recently changed within the last two months or so. This is a great feature, and you are going to maintain it, just thought from an FE perspective I can manage the ones for my ARTCC.
Ross Carlson Posted January 22, 2012 at 07:41 PM Posted January 22, 2012 at 07:41 PM Marvin, would you please list those fixes, at least one or two, so that I can check to be sure they are in the source I plan to use?
