Recording audio for videos

Hey forum, I make videos about X-Plane (but I'm sure this could be answered by a MFSF user) and I was hoping to start making videos about Vatsim. I have run into a little trouble with the audio set up though. I use a headset as most do, so I have my audio preferences input "C-Media USB" and both outputs "C-Media USB" because I like my engine sounds and ATC separate. My screen recorder (iShowU) isn't letting me specify the output device, so it only allows me to record the engine sounds. When I set the output as "Built-in Output" it does record it, but it's impossible to hear over the engine. Should I simply change screen recorders? I'm on an iMac so that limits my possibilites. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I feel this is appropriate in this category because this is about video and the category is screenshot. If there is a better place to put it, let me know.

With Windows or Linux, it is possible to set Audacity to capture whatever a device is outputting, you just need to set the device to be captured. Audacity is free.

I've never actually tested Audacity for recording (thanks for the tip Semir!), but it looks like Audacity is available for Mac as well: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/beta_mac
