Friday nights are always fun and busy in San Francisco, CA and Reno, NV, and on February 17, ZOA invites you to join us for our biggest FNO yet!

Enjoy the entertainment and excellent dining in parts of San Francisco like the Fisherman's Wharf. Perhaps you are looking for a great performing arts show or an exciting sports game. Or do you prefer to enjoy some sightseeing, a tour of the famous Golden Gate Bridge, or take a ride on one of the cable cars? San Francisco has what you are looking for!

Plenty of additional fun awaits you in Reno. Maybe you're looking for a full night of gaming at one of the many casinos in the city. Are you looking to enjoy Reno's own arts and entertainment? Or perhaps you'd just like to enjoy a quiet, relaxing evening at your cabin on Lake Tahoe. Reno is an excellent option for you!

But the best part: you don't have to settle for one or the other. Located a conveniently short distance from each other, you can visit both in the same night!

We'll be staffing up the second busiest airport in California and the second busiest airport in Nevada for this event. Both SFO and RNO offer a variety of airlines with destinations all over the west coast AND to each other. Cargo, corporate, and general aviation services are also available at both airports. So whatever you fly, wherever you go - join us in San Francisco, Reno, or both!

The event will run from 5pm-9pm PST (8pm-12am EST, 0100-0500z) on Friday, February 17.

I gotta tell ya...I had a blast tonight flying ZOA's Friday Night Ops. I had nothing but very, very excellent ATC all the way from Delivery at Seattle to Ground at SFO. I had it all tonight...taxi holds for other taxiing aircraft, a 7 circuit hold over Point Reyes...

(Thanks Charan, that was great, I loved every circuit, especially being able to watch the ones above and below me in the stack..I really had to pee and I appreciate you letting me leave the flight deck for five...it coulda got messy.)

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, hold over PYE, vectors for spacing, vectors for separation (are these the same...I think so), last minute runway change from 28L to 28R (probably because I heard the wrong runway, not because of ATC.) FMS didn't like it so I hand flew the 28R approach playnig with the throttles cause I was number 2 in a line of 3 for 28R. Not too fast, don't wanna run anyone over, not too slow there are others waiting in the PYE stack.

Caution the Boeing 747 during taxi in...

Man, it was great. I haven't felt this rush since my first event, which was Rocky Mountain Rumble as a less than 100 hour new guy. Hey that's next weekend...oh yeah, I'll be there!

Great night, Great Pilots, Fantastic ATC!

Going to the ARTCC website's next to thank them by name, but you know who you are...

Unfortunately, I'm on the other side of the planet right now, working 7 days a week. So between being away from my computer, and the fact that I'm working right now, I unfortunately have missed this great event. I did manage to sneak a few peeks and was psyched to see so much ATC online, and so many pilots taking advantage of it, both in Oakland and all throughout the Western US. It looked like a heck of an FNO, and the service in Oakland is great. Not surprised at the great feedback, and hope to catch you on your next FNO!
