Two PC set up anomaly

Hello all,

I'm training on area (CTR) and using two PCs to display Euroscope.

Quite often I find the main PC takes up to 10 minutes to download the metar for an airport, yet the PC connected as proxy get's it straight away.

Also, when I only use one PC the runway dialog stay as I set it, but if I use two PCs then the ticks seem to drop out from some airfields.

With two PCs and whilst being mentored last night I noticed that I was not always in sync with the mentor.

We were both on Europe CW2 server, but my mentor seemed to see updates much more quickly than I. For example, I called an aircraft with a squawk three times, after which my mentor informed me the pilot changed the squawk after my second call. I still had an error indication and the strip showed him with the wrong squawk, which "corrected" about 20 seconds later.

At one point he said that an approach position had gone offline, yet I showed the position still online. In this case the position was still online as I was able to hand the traffic off.

I thought this might be a slow connection, but I opened Chrome and was able to download web content quickly.

Does anyone have any idea what's causing this, and whether there is anything I can do to "speed things up"

Thanks

The metar find is a bit strange...because the proxy instance is connected to the prime, not to the network, so the info is there. G can answer that one.

The airport dialog, check to see if you have selected the "Set active APT by owned sectors" in the General options.

The third problem...you can't check the speed by opening Chrome (or any other browser for that matter). Use SI and ping the server you are on. It looks like server connection problem. Did the commands you were doing in ES react fast: you enter a CFL and it is shown right away or there was a delay?

Hi Todor, thanks for the quick respone.

Not sure if this would affect the metar, but my two PCs are connected through a switch which is itself connected to the router.

I didn't have "Set Active APT by owned sector" ticked because of the way I was using Euroscope to work out the STAR and runway for traffic transiting my sector to land in the next two sectors. I should be ok without it now, so I'll put the tick in and give it a go.

I'll do the ping this afternoon, when I go online, however the problem only seems to occur when I'm being mentored on CTR.

If I mentor someone on approach, I don't have the problem, or at least I'm not aware of it.

All commands react immediately.

Thanks again.
