Thinking I had completely disconnected from VATSIM, I put the flight on PAUSE and resumed it a couple of hours later. FSINN and the "traffic light" had all been closed earlier abnd was not restarted. On approach to EGBB the PM "ding" surprised me and a message box popped up asking me to contact EGBB. A thorough search of running programs, task bar, Task Manager did not find an way for me to respond, I immediately ended the flight to get out of the way. Before my next VATSIM online flight I will definitely learn how to disconneck when needed. Again, my apology for the error and for being unable to respond to the PM.
