Nelaka Rupasinghe 1186094 Posted September 24, 2013 at 04:43 AM Posted September 24, 2013 at 04:43 AM Hello, Firstly, apologies if this has already been brought up; I searched the forums and could not find much. I would like to develop a pilot client for FGFS (FlightGear flight simulator); the current option is not the best when compared to the options for X-Plane and MSFSX. I have read posts on these forums and this is what I have gathered so far: -VATSIM uses a modified version of the FSD protocol -FSD source code is free to view (NOT VATSIM's version) I have downloaded the FSD windows server. But to interface the flight simulator with FSD, I need to know how FSD works exactly. A.k.a. what computer language does it speak, etc. Hypothetically speaking, if I make software that can interface with FG and FSD, then I shouldn't have to change it too much to work with VATSIM's FSD should I? Am I on the right track or completely on the wrong heading -pun intended (terrible, I know )? Thanks for any help in advance
