Tag compound warning item

Recommended Posts

Compound warning item - This item combines the following warning flags in this priority order:

Emergency indicator

Radio failure indicator

Hijack indicator

Collision alert

Squawk error

Duplicated squawk flag

CLAM/RAM warning

Hi, I'm using 3.1d and the compound warning item is selected in the tag definition.

The warning works for everything except the duplicate squawk flag.

Is this an error or am I looking in the wrong place.

Regards

Hi Gergely,

I was controlling EISN_CTR and had been on about 2 minutes when I accidentally [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned a duplicate squawk to a departure.

It seems that EICK_TWR had already issued this squawk (6651) to an earlier departure which was still in my airspace.

There was no indication of any code error although both were squawking 6651.

Strangely, last night whilst on EGGP_APP I saw two tags in an adjacent sector that were displaying DUPE.

I'll have a closer look at these two profiles and see if there is anything obvious.

Many thanks for the response.

Phill

  • 6 months later...

I know this thread is 6 months old but I still have the problem.

I never get a DUPE warning.

I've tried a completely different set of tags from another VACC and still it persists.

I'm going to back up both Euroscope folders and reinstall.

Complete re-install of Euroscope did not solve the problem.

No plugins

"Duplicated squawk - If the [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned squawk is used by another aircraft then a static #DUPE# string. Otherwise empty."

All the other static strings work. CLAM RAM CA HIJ RAD and EMG. It's like the string is missing.

Hi Todor,

Thanks for the reply.

Two methods.

1 Run a scenario file and issue the same squawk to two a/c.

2 On the network, get two a/c to squawk the same. They do but I don't see this below.

This taken from another controller's screen grab.

Hi Todor,

Sorry, they are both tagged by EGGP_APP but shown tag down so you see the squawk code.

In general settings/tag display options there are ticks in all 6 boxes.

Note that the DUPE does not display on any tag set I have ie Eurocat 2000E etc.

I don't recall seeing a DUPE message for years but I [Mod - Happy Thoughts]umed that was because we use VCA or ATCA which avoid them. However the other day, another controller reported an aircraft wrongly correlated and I later realised I had an aircraft with the same squawk heading in the opposite direction. They had both correlated correctly for me and no DUPE messages.

Presumably the DUPE text would only appear on un-correlated aircraft (and therefore C-Mode Correlation only)?

Thanks for the input Mike.

Like you it's been a long time since I saw a DUPE. I only realised it when another controller pointed out that I had two aircraft with the same squawk. Happens sometimes when two controllers are manually [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igning squawks. I'm not sure whether the other (third) controller was using Euroscope or VRC but I'll find out.

Thanks again.
