Tamas Bulejsza 907413 Posted December 19, 2004 at 03:23 PM Posted December 19, 2004 at 03:23 PM Hi! After having troubles finally I can connect to vatsim and I can see other planes around me.However, the planes do not move on the ground continiously. They move forward only every 4-5 seconds. Any idea what is the problem? One more thing!Sometimes I cannot see the correct aircrafts of the other players.According to the data written above the planes they are for example B737 but I see cessna. Thanks in advance! T. Paul Williams 907674 Posted December 19, 2004 at 03:54 PM Posted December 19, 2004 at 03:54 PM Tamas, The planes will move erratically, because SquawkBox doesn't take continuous updates of the planes' positions. It sounds like your flight sim isn't guessing where they might be going either. Tamas Bulejsza 907413 Posted December 19, 2004 at 04:38 PM Author Posted December 19, 2004 at 04:38 PM Hi Paul! The problem is a bit strange. When the plane was landing I could see the flying data -distance, flight level- indicated on the screen continiously. However, after the aircraft had landed the trouble I mentioned started. Is there any possibility to change sb settings?

The problem is a bit strange. When the plane was landing I could see the flying data -distance, flight level- indicated on the screen continiously. However, after the aircraft had landed the trouble I mentioned started. Is there any possibility to change sb settings? What you see is probably normal. SB2 gets updates from the network every 5 seconds, and between the updates SB2 tries to interpolate the aircraft position. But if the aircraft is changing speed or direction, SB2 does a really bad job calculating the position. FSInn and SB3 will do this much better, so please be patient until these nice software packages will be released. I'm not really happy with the current situation either, I really hate it, but then the upgrade will be so much sweeter.

T. Yes, this is a CSL problem. CSL is a SquawkBox function that has low resolution bitmaps for different aircraft types. If you are using FS2004 and SBRelay, read in the SBRelay readme file what you need to do. If you are using FS2002, check SB2.3 docomeentation about this. It may also be described in the Vatsim Pilot Resource Centre (PRC).

Did I wrong/miss something? That's all that's needed - but just to verify, did you copy the csl files to: \aircraft\csl i.e. you should have a CSL subfolder where you have a lot of other subfolders named: model.a320 model.a340 model.at72
