Walter Haynie 1271256 Posted October 14, 2013 at 06:27 AM Posted October 14, 2013 at 06:27 AM Tonight I attempted a flight from KLAX to KSFO. It was an utter disaster. I flew the same route in the FSX default CRJ700 this morning and all went very smoothly. Where I made my mistake was attempting it in my new Wilco CRJ add-on aircraft on the first time using FSINN instead of SB. Despite reading the manual for the RJ FMS and systems thoroughly, I still got my butt kicked trying to keep up. Add some auto pilot glitches (have to reset to change altitude??) and i ultimately disconnected the flight after blowing my approach. Long story short, lesson learned: DONT play with new add ons while online... Also a very real thanks to the patient controllers tonight. Im sorry my learning experience resulted in an added work load for you, I really do understand how to fly a STAR and ILS approach.
