Doug Peacock 956401 Posted February 3, 2006 at 06:26 AM Posted February 3, 2006 at 06:26 AM Aha! I knew the answer was here... well, actually on SquawkBox's forum, so I'll post it here. If you get this problem: You're connected to VATSIM, SB, and FS all fine. You might see some traffic, but you're definitely connected to ATC. It *looks* normal... until at some random time, you get "The host has removed you from the session" message, any local traffic disappears, and FS's own AI traffic is now on your screen. What do you do??! [Funny thing: Since I fly a helicopter (N707WC) VFR, I though it was just the controllers telling me to p'ss off . OAK CTR [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ured me this what not the case!] The problem is between SB and your own computer, it appears. It has nothing to do with VATSIM, the honest, hard working Controllers, even your fellow pilot (even...the fixed winged ones too). It seems if you connect through a network router, especially through a wireless connection, there is an obscure feature called "UPNP". No idea what it does, other than keep SB from running the way it should. DISABLE UPNP SERVICES FROM YOUR ROUTER! On D-Link: Log in (http:\\192.168.0.1) to the set up, go to "Tools\Misc.". Switch UPNP from "Enable" to "Disable". Now you're ready to fly and see everyone else. Heh, and to think us rotorheads weren't good for nuttin. -dP www.rubberduckyvfr.com [RBD648] . . . www.hovercontrol.com [HC699WI] . . .
