VATSEA PERSONNEL CHANGES

I have with regret accepted the resignation of Mr. Bowen Chau, Division Director of VATSEA division, with immediate effect.

 

Bowen has been a 13-year veteran member of VATSIM, with his entry dated back to the days of SATCO. Over the decade, Bowen has contributed countless hours to our online community and was part of the effort in building the online flight simulation community in Asia since the start of VATSIM. He has inspired many members within Southeast Asia in becoming instructors and staff members, some even became real-world aviation professionals. Bowen's work not only limited to the online environment. Under his leadership, Hong Kong VACC was able to extend VATSIM's philosophy of promoting aviation knowledge through volunteer work to the real world. The team has been cooperating with local youth groups and major airlines to promote aviation knowledge to the younger generation in Hong Kong. We hope that despite Bowen's departure, this spirit of volunteerism and promotion of aviation knowledge will continue. On behalf of the Asia Region, I would like to express my gratitude towards Bowen's decade-long service.

 

I would also like to announce that Mr. Terrance Kan is also stepping down as VATSEA training director due to personal reasons, with immediate effect. As with Bowen, Terrance is also a veteran member who has spent countless hours and tremendous amount of effort in helping other members on the network. I would like to thank Terrance also for his great work during their days as a staff member on VATSIM.

 

The following personnel changes to VATSEA division are made with immediate effect:

 

Alfred Tang (RD of Asia) as Interim Division Director of VATSEA until further notice

Romano Lara (Training Manager of Asia) as Interim Training Director of VATSEA until further notice

 

The recruitment process for these positions is underway, and, in order to ensure that VATSEA operation and training service remain uninterrupted, the Asia Region will provide additional support for the division. Futures updates will be posted to the VATSIM forum and a new VATSEA facebook page, which will be set up later this week.
