vasFMC Data Format and functional design

Does anyone know where I can get the technical data formats used by vasFMC?

In particular I was using their ssmaker to add a new STAR and I thought I had everything in the right spot, i.e. airports.txt, waypoints.txt, kord.txt, etc, and the STAR shows up in the tool, but not in the MCDU when I select the airport.

It seemed fairly simple, but then it got complex, like I was missing something key and I just can't figure it out.

Any help would be wonderful.

Thanks.

Ok, since that brought on a resounding sound of crickets.

Does anyone have access to ANY version of the vasFMC source code?

I'm just perplexed that this was supposed to be an opensource project and I cannot find the source....anywhere.

I can understand the project closing down, but to take your ball and go home too...kinda isn't in the spirit of open source....yes, I know I'm over simplifying.

Hi Jeff,

I guess there are not too many vasFMC-users around here. There may be more at the German community of VATSIM.

The NavData-format of vasFMC is similar or identical to the one of Flight1's ATR NavData.

@Charan - the Russian Avsim link had what I needed. The sourceforge was just garbage (from what I could find).

@Andreas - I'm all about FREE, lol, and I wanted to see if I could "enhance" vasFMC by developing a navaid loader from what comes from the FAA site (at least here in the US), so I need the data format and loading sequence of the various .txt files.

This should get me pointed in the right direction for now.

Thanks for your help!

Jeff
