Bradford Lee Posted January 4, 2014 at 04:59 PM Posted January 4, 2014 at 04:59 PM So I did a FOIA request with the FAA for the Jacksonville ARTCC STARS video maps, and the disc arrived today. I've heard there is a way to import the .dat files into vSTARS. Could anyone enlighten me about this? We're trying to add vSTARS support to more of our facilities. Justin Shannon Posted January 4, 2014 at 05:46 PM Posted January 4, 2014 at 05:46 PM Brad: This is how I've converted FAA .dat files to work with VRC/vSTARS. Use this website to convert an FAA .dat format to the usable sector file format: http://drakedesignlabs.com/converter/ Copy the lat/long coordinates into a VRC .sct file using the proper formatting (http://www1.metacraft.com/VRC/docs/doc.php?page=appendix_g ; I would suggest putting it under either the [sTAR] or [sID] section) Open up the SectorFileToVideoMap converter program that is shipped with vSTARS Import the sector file that you saved with the converted lat/long coordinates, select the map you want to convert at the bottom, click "Save Video Map" and save it to a location you can find later. Open vSTARS, go into the facility engineer configuration, video maps section, and add the video map you just converted. Tim Roden 987596 Posted August 27, 2014 at 03:07 PM Posted August 27, 2014 at 03:07 PM I am no longer the FE at ZFW and don't know how long ZFW will keep the dottoxml program on there site. They moved all the downloads to a dropbox. I have not made any updates. The site is https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nxwmh75b0xrybp5/AABUz0g1YKRUYI0kx5IhIrkpa/Facilities%20Engineer?dl=0. Since I don't monitor this thread regularly, if there is any issues send it to my personal email [email protected]. Was the issue resolved?
