I'm not the VATCAN Events director, nor the Vancouver FIR Chief - but I am with VATCAN, so I'll talk with those who can get the news out. Securing web hosting services is personal investment people make, when life situation causes a change in direction, changes in webhosting can happen. Try to make sure they email a zip file of the site to another staff member at least once a week, or at least ensure more than one person has access to the ftp site to ensure site survivability.
