Johan Grauers Posted May 14, 2014 at 11:06 PM Posted May 14, 2014 at 11:06 PM I am trying to figure out if there's a way to run a simulator server locally in the new version of ES. This was very usefull in the old one when designing scenarios and files to test them, but now I can't figure out how to do so without connecting to sweatbox. I tried to uncheck the "connect to vatsim" button but this produces an error message. Any hints? Fredrik Voksepp 1120779 Posted May 14, 2014 at 11:19 PM Posted May 14, 2014 at 11:19 PM Run the FSD server, set localhost as the server in the connection dialog window, and uncheck the "connect to vatsim" box. http://www.euroscope.hu/mediawiki/index.php?title=Starting_a_simulator_session
Johan Grauers Posted May 14, 2014 at 11:38 PM Author Posted May 14, 2014 at 11:38 PM That gives me an error "VATSIM server found while non-VATSIM server was requested" Johan Grauers Event Coordinator - vACC Scandinavia
Arvid Hansson Posted May 15, 2014 at 07:11 AM Posted May 15, 2014 at 07:11 AM Do you have "Start sweatbox simulator session" as the connection mode? Eric Bocaneanu 906549 Posted May 15, 2014 at 08:26 AM Posted May 15, 2014 at 08:26 AM I have had this problem just last night. It seems that somehow the ES server redirects localhost to the VATSIM server, or something similar that I can't explain. Use the similar function using IP "127.0.0.1". It servers the same purpose as "localhost". Eric Bocaneanu ROvACC Director

Eric Bocaneanu 906549 Posted May 15, 2014 at 11:08 AM Posted May 15, 2014 at 11:08 AM Can you try restarting Windows, starting only the FSD server and then EuroScope without first connecting to VATSIM? Eric Bocaneanu ROvACC Director
Johan Grauers Posted May 15, 2014 at 09:59 PM Author Posted May 15, 2014 at 09:59 PM Can you try restarting Windows, starting only the FSD server and then EuroScope without first connecting to VATSIM? I feel stupid now, so I've probably missed something obvious, but I thought the FSD server was built in to Euroscope? In other words I'm not sure what you need me to do. Eric Bocaneanu 906549 Posted May 15, 2014 at 11:41 PM Posted May 15, 2014 at 11:41 PM Now that explains it. That mode has been moved to an external FSD server which has been installed with EuroScope: http://www.euroscope.hu/mediawiki/index.php?title=Simulator_Architecture LE: Basically you were connecting to your own proxy which was connected to VATSIM. At least that's what I think was happening. Now just start the external FSD server and proceed as before. Eric Bocaneanu ROvACC Director
