Matthew Schoenberg 959688 Posted February 27, 2006 at 06:20 AM Posted February 27, 2006 at 06:20 AM I am a newbie and when I joined the USA, it said we are to use Pro Controller software. I was then reading on the main VATSIM sight and it said we no longer us Pro Controller software. I am now confused. Do we use Pro Controller software and if not, which software should we use with Squawkbox? Thank you.
Jeff Clark Posted February 27, 2006 at 07:09 AM Posted February 27, 2006 at 07:09 AM Matt, We now use the ASRC radar client. Visit the Pilots Resource Center (www.vatsim.net - then "New Pilots Click Here" for more info). If you could also reply to this post with the URL of the page that tells you to use Pro Controller, I'm sure some VATUSA webmaster would be keen to update that outdated reference. Jeff Clark VATGOV6 Jeff, It also says we use Squawkbox3 and does not mention FSInn. I notice there was some touchy posts on that. Is this true or are we free to use either Squawkbox3 or FSInn? Any thoughts? Here is the link: http://www.vatusa.org/training/default.htm Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Matthew
Norman Blackburn Posted February 27, 2006 at 08:36 AM Posted February 27, 2006 at 08:36 AM Looking at that page I would guess it was at the time both ASRC and PC were both allowed. SB2 is the squawkbox that page then links to and certainly predates the release of both SB3 and FSInn, both of which are approved for use on the network.
