Kieran Hardern Posted June 21, 2014 at 10:27 AM Posted June 21, 2014 at 10:27 AM The Eurocontrol positions (EURI, EURW, EURN, EURE, EURS and EURM though that's a CTR) all cover airspace above FL245, which is cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] C and therefore controlled airspace. These stations are providing control services. Essentially they are just several upper sectors put together. The use of FSS at the end of the callsign is simply a function of the network and is needed to allow them to view such a larger area. That's why EURM is only CTR - not because it's any different, but because it's small enough that the CTR visibility is sufficient for it.
