pau gimeno 1177021 Posted July 6, 2014 at 10:38 PM Posted July 6, 2014 at 10:38 PM Hello, I have recently restored my computer completely to clean it up. After installing all the programs I needed I tried to play a session of simulated traffic with the tower view. When I tried to open fsx connector, this disclaimer appeared: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3684297/Screenshot%202014-07-07%2000.06.00.png It says: "C:/Program Files (x86)/EuroScope/EuroScopeFsxConnector.exe The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." I have not found the log mentioned and the sxstrace.exe opens and immediately after closes before any action can be done. I have reinstalled all versions of euroscope and tried again, does not solve the problem. How do I resolve this? Before the restoring there was no problem with this software. Bradley Grafelman Posted July 7, 2014 at 03:33 PM Posted July 7, 2014 at 03:33 PM This error is the result of not having installed the correct version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library that the program requires. The log entry (in Windows' Event Viewer) will contain information that points to which version is required... however based upon an inspection of EuroScopeFsxConnector.exe, I note that it requires the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Runtime Library. You can download the free installer for this software from Microsoft: 32-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14632
pau gimeno 1177021 Posted July 7, 2014 at 04:37 PM Author Posted July 7, 2014 at 04:37 PM I have installed both of them (just in case), rebooted and the result seems to be the same... Have a look at the log on the Event Viewer and to my System information: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3684297/Screenshot%202014-07-07%2018.29.31.png https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3684297/Screenshot%202014-07-07%2018.34.18.png
Bradley Grafelman Posted July 7, 2014 at 04:42 PM Posted July 7, 2014 at 04:42 PM I stand corrected, it's a different Microsoft library that you appear to be missing - SimConnect, in this case. EDIT: Do you have FSX SP2 or Accelerator installed? EDIT2: If you have the original FSX, ensure you've installed SP1 and SP2. Otherwise, you can install the necessary version of SimConnect using this installer Ross has made available for vPilot users (the required version is the same). pau gimeno 1177021 Posted July 7, 2014 at 06:29 PM Author Posted July 7, 2014 at 06:29 PM Ok, the installer for vPilot users worked. Now is FSX itself that has the same error when opening... I will reinstall it now
